Competitors can choose to sign up to a DBSC WhatsApp channel, where they may receive information related to DBSC racing. Examples could include cancellation of racing and courses for coastal races.
There will be two channels, one for keelboats and one for dinghies.
A WhatsApp Channel is a one-way broadcast channel. Messages appear in the Updates tab in WhatsApp (not the Chats tab). You can choose whether your app notifies you of new messages. Only DBSC administrators will be able to post messages. Your phone number will not be visible to others who join.
This is completely optional – any information sent through the channel will also be provided as previously, on the relevant VHF channel and/or signalled using flags or course boards.
Any failure for updates to be sent or received via WhatsApp will not be considered grounds for redress.
